The Rouergue Lords' Route

 

In Aveyron, there are more than one hundred castles, but only half can be visited and only twenty three are part of the so-called Route des Seigneurs du Rouergue.

 The Route des Seigneurs du Rouergue — Rouergue is the old name for Aveyron, province then larger than the actual Aveyron— was established around historic sites, sometimes castles, of high cultural interest. It comprises twenty three sites, some privately owned, all signatories of a common charter promising reliable opening times, and a wealth of information.
